Canonbie Community Enterprise is a group of like minded local people who have formed a community benefit society located in Canonbie, Dumfriesshire, Scotland. Our original mission was to save the only Shop and Post Office in the village and we can now say we are the proud owners since July 2025.

What is Canonbie Community Enterprise?

Canonbie Community Enterprise is a community benefit society focused on saving and maintaining the only Shop and Post Office in Canonbie, Dumfriesshire to secure a Community hub for the village of Canonbie.

We have formed a Community Benefit Society (CBS) which is an organisation running a business or trade for the benefit of the community

It is registered with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)

It is registered as a Limited Company and although it will appear on the register at Companies House, the FCA manages annual returns and accounts

We have now been able to purchase the shop and Post Office from the previous owner and are in the process of upgrading and refurbishing the shop. We are keen to use local suppliers and trades people in this process.

How can I support the Community Shop?

You can support the Community Shop by shopping with us, volunteering, or making a donation to Canonbie Community Enterprise to help sustain our efforts.

What services does the Post Office provide?

The Post Office  and Shop provides a full range of postal services, courier/parcel drop off and collection, banking services, vehicle taxation, utility bill payment, mobile phone top up and village shop stocking the basics to the residents of Canonbie.
